DSE BULL! Tray is desktop version of DSE BULL! application that lets you know latest share price list of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
DSE BULL! Tray v1.9.8 released. Click here to know about features/changes.

How to install:
1. Download and install latest version of Java.
2. Once Java installed in your computer, just click this link to start the installation of DSE BULL! Tray. Click OK and/or Yes if you are prompted to open this link using Java Web Start. If everything is OK then you should see the following screen that confirms that the installation has started. Please continue reading for more details.
If you are browsing this site from Internet Explorer then choose Open if you are prompted to choose an action as shown in the following screen shot.
But if you are using Mozilla Firefox then a new window will appear to choose Helper Application for installer file. Click OK after selecting “Open with” option and choosing “Java(TM) Web Start Launcher” as shown in the following screen shot. Installation should proceed at this moment. Please select all affirmative option if asked from this point onwards.
If you do not find “Java(TM) Web Start Launcher” to choose from the selector then click “Other…” to open Choose Helper Application window. Select “Java(TM) Web Start Launcher” from this window and click OK to close this window. Click OK again to start installation. Check the following screen shots for more details.
How to(s):
1. Add favorites: Double click Trading Code cell to add/remove favorites.
2. Purchase/Sell: Double click any cell other than Trading Code to open options pane for shares.

1. Reminder column is added in ‘Price List’ tab. You can now store your own analyzed price values for buy/sell reminder. The market price row will be highlighted when market price reaches your analyzed price value.
2. New Menu item ‘Recent news…’ is added which lets you view recent news history. Right click any item and choose ‘Recent news…’ to view it’s recent news list.
3. Price list row highlighting feature for today’s news is added. If there is any news published in DSE website for a particular item on that day then corresponding row of Price List table will be highlighted.

that is really nice software. all the function you embossed on it worked correctly. But Rubel bhai, I have a request to you, can you add some more columns on this software which would help us to analyze the share market more efficiently, if it is possible….The columns are of
1) latest P/E ratio,
2) latest EPS
3) Year’s Highest price and lowest price
4) a column in which we’ll be able to put our own analyzed price and evaluate ourself and save the data.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions. Right now my application only shows information that is available in a web page of DSE website. I do not maintain any database and do not store daily transaction details anywhere. So if I would like to display these additional information then I should identify web pages of DSE website and collect these data from those pages. I will have to do a lot of work for these. I do not think I will manage to find that much time for this now.
Can we think of another solution to this problem, which will provide web page links to view these information online in DSE website, same as we are currently showing graphs (one year/one month)? Please suggest.

Latest P/E ratio you can collect http://www.dsebd.org/latest_PE.php.
You can provide EPS by P/E RATIO multiple LAST TRADE PRICE that you already given to your software. In 4 number i mention a another column “OWN ANALYZED Price’
Example, Let now the LAST TRADE PRICE of a company 1000taka.but from various analysis i decide the *save value of the company 700taka.this is the OWN ANALYZED Price. If a blank column will supplied to the software we will set the *SAVE VALUE of the company. Because one person can buy various companies’ share .but the SAVE VALUE differ each company. So it’s hard to memorize various *SAVE VALUE of various companies .so when the LAST TRADE PRICE comes to the SAVE VALUE of the company we can alert to buy the share.
SAVE VALUE: It such a price that favor’s’ more profit or less loss.

These data are stored in a directory named “.weaverspark” in user’s home. In my Vista it is stored in “C:\Users\rubel\.weaverspark”. You may backup “.weaverspark” directory for this.

Thanks Rubel Bhai for developing such a very useful software. After getting this software, this really eased my work on getting information about the companies. But Bhaia, can you add a simple column, in which I will be able to put a data range, specifically a price range, which would generate buy or sell signal? If the closing price reaches the range, it will provide a buy or sell signal depending upon the either option set. Actually bro I don’t know whether you’ll be to manage your precious time or not, but I have strong trust on you, you’re a great java expert…..I am pleased at your software developing skill. Bro, if you can do the thing so, it will really help me in maintaining the shares. Please don’t deny, whenever you can manage to do it, in your idle time, not hampering your own work, please do it for us, for the whole nation, for Bangladesh!!!

I want to suggest you to add some more feature if possible. You can add a filter to view the share “Category Wise”, like bank, Insurance, Power etc. And you can get the information from http://www.dsebd.org/by_industrylisting1.php.
One more thing you should add +/- indicator in the price list. Other wise you can color the loser as Red Color and Gainer as Green Color so that we can easily understand the status.
NB. I hope that you already started to save the data to your data base to make graph.

Thanks for such a tiny but strong utility to monitor stock market.
I use Windows OS @ Office, and here this tool works perfect!
But I use Ubuntu Linux @ home. there i can install this utility and it works fine, the simple problem is, i cant make a shortcut for installed file as Windows has as default.
Whenever i run it on Ubuntu, i install it, and it starts over from the beginning.
Can you please send me a solve of this situation?

As a workaround you can right-click the desktop, click “create launcher” and as command enter “javaws http://weaverspark.com/downloads/java/dsebulltray/dsebulltray.jnlp“. Tell me if this solves your problem or if you get errors.

and my suggestions are:
* If possible please put a column or something for notification price. So that i can set a price and this nice application will notify me by pop up on my monitor or by playing a sound on my pc or laptop. I think this option will make this application more comfortable and help those people who are busy with their work can not give that much time to share market. then they can see the notification and go for sell or buy..

May be there is another instance of the same application running in the background or cannot access internet during launch.
My suggestion would be to log off and re-login to your pc and start this application again. Try restarting your pc if that does not help.
Final treatment might be to, uninstall (using Control Panel if you are using Windows) and then re-install. Let us which method helps.

OK.. i am using this software form my office laptop. i can not access http://www.dse.org from of office network. I donno from which website this application fetching data… But yesterday i was able to use this software form my office network… and if i use any data modem like zoom or any edge modem i can access every site… i also try to run this application through zoom and gp but still not working… also restarted. but not working.. also tried to uninstall .. but did not get anything from the add remove program to remove….

You should find ‘DSE BULL! Tray’ in Control Panel Add/Remove programs list if this application is properly installed. Anyway you can un-install it from Control Panel > Java > General Tab > View… in Temporary Internet Files section.
One more thing, plz try after deleting the folder ‘WeaversParkStore’ from ‘C:\Documents and Settings\\.weaverspark\’. In my pc the location is ‘C:\Documents and Settings\rubel\.weaverspark’.

Tried everything. deleted the full folder from C drive.. downloaded it again. try to install it and still getting the same error message. And one more thing i am not getting the DSE tray from my add remove program thn deleted it from java..(from Control panel as u said).. but still facing the same problem… : (

wait, what did you mean by “downloaded it again”? Did you download the dsebulltray.jnlp file. And double clicked to start installation? This will not work.
If yes, please re-check my post for installation instruction. Details are there with screenshot.
Otherwise please enable Java console:
Control Panel > Java > Advanced tab > Java Console > Show console > OK.

Please try now. If you still find this error then, the reason might be that, dsebull-tray.jar is being downloaded from proxy cache in your environment.

* For my shares option: it will be great if I can c see my total buying price and total selling price..thn actual gain or loss for a particular share also a column or row for my total loss gain…
* And right now if I want to know the change price of my shares (todays change) thn i have to go back to price list it will be more user friendly if i can c it from my shares.
* And as I said before price notification option will be very helpful for some of us.
* And from my opinion it will be great if add some more option for auto refresh interval.. (Auto refresh option does not work always for me). This will be very effective when u add price notification option…
and I think adding this options are very easy for you.. because this application is doing this jobs in the back end..

Please un-install and re-install again. For details you can check this comment thread. If this does not help please check that you are not downloading thisfile from your proxy cache. Avoid using proxy or clear any temporary internet while re-installing. One more thing, please try using internet connection other than the one that your are using currently if possible(e.g. gp modem).

1. Delete the desktop shortcut icon that you are trying with.
2. Open command prompt from Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
3. Change current directory to JAVA_INSTALLATION_DIR/bin. I had to type and press ENTER three commands in the sequence given below to change directory. Please note that the path in the 2nd command may vary in your pc based on Java installation location and/or version.
a) cd \
b) cd “Program Files\Java\jre6\bin”
c) javaws http://weaverspark.com/downloads/java/dsebulltray/dsebulltray.jnlp
4. To create the desktop shortcut icon again go to Start > Control Panel > (Open) Java > General tab > View … > (Right click) DSE BULL! Tray > Choose Install shortcut.
